The 2009 Rochester Red Wings season was the franchise's 111th season, both overall and as a member of the International League, and their seventh season as the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. The Red Wings finished with a 70–74 record, ending the team's streak of five straight winning seasons from 2004 to 2008. Rochester began its 2009 campaign in Syracuse, New York, with a 7–4 win against the Syracuse Chiefs on April 9 and closed out its season on September 7 with a 7–5 victory over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in Moosic, Pennsylvania.
The 2009 Red Wings season will be the subject of a documentary called Minor League, to be aired on PBS and the Armed Forces Network in March 2010.[1]
